2014 Grammy Awards – Nominations & Predictions

This Sunday (January 26, 2014), THE 56^th ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS® will be broadcast on CBS.

While honoring the best in music through its awards, The Grammys also put on one heck of a show for us viewers. Performers this year include Katy Perry, Kacey Musgraves, Imagine Dragons, Keith Urban, and many more...

Millions will be tuning in Sunday night for the live performances and to see who will be taking home a trophy? Here’s a (partial) list of nominations with my picks for the winners highlighted.

Lea Michele Releases 3rd Track off Debut Album "Louder"

The title track from Lea Michele’s upcoming album Louder was released with an overwhelming positive response. At the time of this writing, “Louder” was sitting at #4 in Canada and in the US on the iTunes (overall) Top Singles Chart, and I will be very surprised if doesn’t soon hit #1.

Lea Michele, known best for her role as Rachel Berry on Glee, has shown the music world that there is more to her than the covers done on the show. Her undeniably strong vocals carry a hint of broadway, which nicely enhance her otherwise ‘pop’ sound.

I was originally skeptical for the success of Lea’s debut album. Coming from a show where she plays a singer, I wasn’t sure how (or if) she could break from her character and clearly bring forth herself... but she did. Listening to the first few tracks released, I got no sense of ‘Rachel Berry’ and heard only Lea Michele.

People’s Choice Awards 2014 – Predictions

Kicking off this year’s award show season will be The People’s Choice Awards (PCAs), airing Wednesday, January 8 on CBS (and GlobalTV). Celebrating its 40^th year, the PCAs honor the fans’ choices for favorites among many categories of music, movies, and television. With fan voting, who is nominated against whom plays a significant role in predicting the winners.
